Does the Mayan Calendar ending in 2012 mean anything for the end times?

Will the world end in 2012?  The simple answer is nobody knows when the world will end.  The Mayan civilization did not have some kind of inside track into the mind of God.  In fact, their lives and worship practices point to a pagan society who was very superstitious.  The bible clearly states that no man would know when the end would come.  There would be signs for us to know it might be close.  Increased globalization, the falling away from biblical christianity, the coming together of Europe into a workable political and monetary system, the return of Israel and the modern technologies needed to institute a world and Antichrist controlling a person's every move.

I believe God places eternity into everybody's heart.  We know instinctively that this life is not all there is.  Deep down we know something is going to happen when we die.  The end of the world rumors have been floating around since the beginning of civilization.  The real question is this....Are you ready to meet your Maker?  Time doesn't stand still.  It wil happen one day...it could be tomorrow or a hundred years from now.  Plan for it today!

Is Global Warning a sign of the End-Times?

I believe the answer is yes...and no.

Let me explain the "no" first.  Most meteorologists in the country do not believe global warming is happening the way it is being portrayed.  Has there been some warming?  Yes.  Has it been as much as some believe?  No.  Thermometers across the United States have many buildings, parking lots and industrial machines too close to them tainting the temperature record.  All these things cause the temperature to appear to warm when it's really a problem with urban development and not global warming.  A thermometer in Chesapeake, VA has been reading 4-7 degrees too warm for many months in my local town and the F.A.A. in charge of these have ignored my appeals to fix it.  The national weather service has done nothing to fix it either.  In fact, the weather channel forecasts now routinely show the seven day forecast with severely inflated temps because this thermometer is so far off from reality.

The small warming the world has seen can be better explained with higher energy levels coming from the sun, increased urbanization close to the thermometers of record, and simply natural cycles of weather can occur over decades and centuries.  These natural variations of weather are simply not understand by the modern science of meteorology.

On the "yes" side, if national governments and the United Nations have their way with this sensitive issue, their draconian measures will hurt the global economy severely on the good side, and destroy the global economy on the bad side.  The economies of the world are now connected in a way they have never been before in human history.  If the global monetary system is wrecked...it could set the stage for a global leader (Antichrist) who will come on the seen promising the world the same things Hitler promised Germans when the country was destroyed.  The promise was PROSPERITY!  When you are poor with no hope...a devil promising you a good life is a very tempting thing.

Is the Iceland Volcano eruption in the bible?

No!  I heard a preacher on television stretching his way through the scriptures trying to paint the current volcanic eruption as an event from the book of Revelation.  The fact is...volcanoes have been blowing there tops for hundreds and thousands of years without having any biblical prophetic significance.  Of course the Lord is in charge of natural disasters and crazy weather events but this does not mean it has a connection to end-times events.

The book of Revelation has many "natural" disasters mentioned in it.  Many of these events are on a global scale and will make most of our current natural disasters look rather small.

Revelation Chapter Eight...

7The first angel sounded his trumpet, and there came hail and fire mixed with blood, and it was hurled down upon the earth. A third of the earth was burned up, a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up.

8The second angel sounded his trumpet, and something like a huge mountain, all ablaze, was thrown into the sea. A third of the sea turned into blood, 9a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.

10The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star, blazing like a torch, fell from the sky on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water— 11the name of the star is Wormwood.[a] A third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter.

Many people believe that we will see more natural disasters and look toward these verses...

You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains. (Matt. 24:6-8)

Then he said to them: “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven. (Luke 21:10-11)

These things have been happening for hundreds and thousands of years and nowhere in scripture does it say there will be an "increase" in natural disasters.  It's just not there!  I'm looking for the gospel to be preached to all the nations myself...Jesus said this was the BIG sign of His Coming...

Is the Oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico mentioned in the Bible?

Several people have come to me in recent weeks and asked me if the oil disaster in the Gulf is mentioned in the bible.  They know I have written several books on biblical prophecy and wonder if the end is near.

Firstly, the oil disaster is certainly NOT mentioned directly by the bible.  Many people try to pull out some kind of symbolism in the Old Testament or the book of Revelation and shout, "There it is!"  But on a deeper level it's important to understand the bible does predict a one-world government and one-world leader called the Antichrist who will control the world and it's resources including the food supply.  Any disaster that eventually leads the government to gain additional power over the people is not a good thing.  A disaster that could cripple the economy can also lead to the United States being weakened and eventually being "absorbed" into some kind of world government.

Think about this.  How would the world accept one leader for all the countries?  Why would the countries of the globe suddenly decide to abandon their sovereignty and merge into a global system of politics and currency.  It would take a world-wide depression of biblical proportions.  In the coming months and years I will through this blog examine the events in the news that would "lead up" to this type of event.
